Zvi Hecker

Zvi Hecker (Krakow, 1931) is a Polish -Israeli architect and artist. After the Second World War years spent with his family in Samarkand where he first approached architecture by sketching monumental Islamic buildings, began studies Krakow completed them at Technion Haifa, graduated 1955. Later studied painting Avni Academy of Fine Arts Tel Aviv. From 1960, an office Aviv until 1966 association A. Neumann E. Sharon designed residential complexes, synagogues, schools, administrative buildings. In Israel, Aviv, realised most iconic building, Spiral House (1984-’89). 1991 opened second atelier Berlin after winning competition for Heinz Galinski school, Jewish school city Shoah. same year took part Venice Architecture Biennale, as well 1996 2000 editions. was awarded Deutscher Kritikerpreis 1999 Rechter Prize architecture.
